Linn Christensen is SSAC Player of the Week
Linn Christensen, an outstanding midfielder for the Lee women's soccer team over the past two season, has been selected as the SSAC Defensive Player of the Week.
The 5-foot-3 senior from Oslo, Norway has teamed with her twin sister Chris to help direct the Lady Flames to a national title last season and a No. 3 ranking this year. Lee stands at 6-2 on the year and last week posted SSAC wins over Auburn Montgomery 2-0) and Faulkner University (6-0).
Coach Matt Yelton pointed out that Linn was a key figure defensively in Lee's victory over AUM, breaking up several of the Lady Senators' opportunities in the attack. In the win over Faulkner, Christensen registered a goal and an assist to go along with her superior defensive play.
The Lady Flames will be back in conference action on Tuesday afternoon, traveling to Emmanuel College for a 3 p.m. match. Lee returns home on Thursday and hosts Shorter College and closes out the busy week by hosting Brewton-Parker College on Saturday.
