VB Posts 8th Straight Victory

MT. VERNON, Ga. - The Lee University volleyball team coasted to its eighth straight victory on Saturday afternoon defeating host Brewton-Parker College, 3-0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-22).

Overall, the Lady Flames stand at 15-4 on the year and improved to 6-0 in Southern States Athletic Conference play. They will continue their conference road adventures on Monday, traveling to Rome, Ga. to test Shorter College for the second time this season. On Thursday, Lee will be at Berry, before returning home next Saturday to host Covenant College and Emory University in a tri-match at Walker Arena.

Coach Andrea Hudson used all 16 players in coasting to the victory over the Barons. Kayla Carlisle again led the victory march with 10 kills and a .500 attack percentage. Jacky Toruno came away with seven kills and an outstanding .700 attack percentage. Vedrana Krsmanovic added six slams.

Kelsey Leffew and Gretchen Higdon helped set up the kills. Leffew notched 18 assists and came up with six digs, while Higdon totaled 16 assists. Stephanie Todd joined in with seven assists. Sara Smith collected 14 digs and a pair of aces and Christa Hutchison was credited with six digs.
