Gorana Maric and Jacky Toruno Go High for Block

With Kayla Carlisle leading the way, the Lee University Lady Flames scored their 10th straight victory on Saturday afternoon by defeating visiting Covenant College, 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-13).
Carlisle was sharp at the net with nine kills in 12 attempts for a .750 attack percentage. The junior also registered six timely blocks as the Lady Flames improved to 18-4 on the year and face a much stiffer challenge later on Saturday evening.

Milica Krsmanovic turned in her usual solid performance with eight slams, four aces and a pair of blocks. In fact, she served out the second set win for the Lady Flames. Stephanie Todd and Jacky Toruno contributed five kills each. Todd also had eight digs and a block. Toruno added two blocks and one service ace.

Freshman Emily Roderick was impressive off the bench with four kills in four attempts. The Dalton native also picked up a block. Gretchen Higdon was the assist leader with 21, while teammate Kelsey Leffew had 13 assists and three digs. Like Krsmanovic, Leffew came very close to serving out the final set as the Lady Flames picked up 12 aces over the visiting Scots and had 41 kills compared to just 20 for the losers.

Emily Stewart and Jessie Jakes had five kills apiece to lead the Covenant attack. Kristen Dahlstrand and Joanna McGill had six assists apiece for the Lady Scots.
