Volleyball Wins Easily Over Berry

MT. BERRY, Ga. – The Lee volleyball team rang up its ninth straight victory on Thursday evening and ran its record to 17-4 in an overwhelming 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-11) win over former SSAC rival Berry College.

Coach Andrea Hudson used 16 players in the romp as she prepared her Lady Flames for Covenant College on Saturday at 3 p.m. and then a huge challenge from NCAA Division III power Emory University later in the evening (7p.m.).

Lee dominated play at the net with sophomore Stephanie Todd recording 13 kills. She then moved into the back court and came away with 11 digs. Milica Krsmanovic had her usual fine game with nine kills, three digs and seven aces. According to assistant coach Kevin Hudson, Milica ran off 11 straight service points in the opening set.

Vedrana Krsmanovic countered with nine kills and a pair of blocks. Gorana Maric came up large in the victory. She had nine kills in 10 attempts for a .900 attack percentage. Kayla Carlisle contributed four blocks and Gretchen Higdon added 11 assists and three aces. Kelsey Leffew chipped in with seven assists, while Jacky Toruno came away with nine digs.

Berry got seven kills from Claire Scott, while Erin Godwin kicked in with seven assists. Kristin Hargrove was the dig leader with eight and Allison Lewen totaled seven.
